Our Facilities Management prepress operations represent the highest, most efficient level of partnership with clients

Our Facilities Management operations place resources – employees, equipment and technologies – within a client’s facility, allowing us to become intimately involved in one another's business, develop mutual understanding of challenges and opportunities, and develop solutions. A Facilities Management operation links Quad-installed servers at the customer site to our network. All production files are redundant at both the client location and Quad.

Turnaround time - On-site high-end color Macs and color experts working directly with the art director or photo editor significantly reduce time required for color correction. Page processing can be reduced by one or more days: Most clients’ prepress employees work weekday hours while our Imaging teams will provide overnight turns.

Quality - On-site Imaging staff working directly with the client’s creative staff to improve communications and eliminate errors.

Cost savings - Clients’ overall operating costs for prepress are dramatically reduced due our automated and lean workflow processes, and economies of scale as the industry’s lowest-cost prepress provider. Specific cost-saving areas include labor, depreciation, software licensing renewals and proofing.

Virtual Facilities Management
On-site Facilities Management operations, even with just one or two Quad/Graphics employees, may not be a viable solution for small and mid-sized publishers and catalogers. For this market segment, we offer a hosted “Virtual Facilities Management” solution that makes available the full range of Smartools and automation. Under this arrangement, you would be set up with one of our Regional Imaging Centers via ContentLink, technology that digitally links our Imaging servers with a server at your location via a T1 line, VPN tunnel or Internet connection. ContentLink allows your assets and information about them to be mirrored to Quad. If changes are made to any pages, images, copy or data, the changes are automatically reflected on both servers. A Virtual Facilities Management partnership begins at a basic level using SmartCreate. As your business grows we expand the operation to include either the hosted version of Catalog Studio in the case of catalogers, or Publisher’s Studio for magazines.
