Founded in 1880, L.S. Starrett Company manufactures more than 5,000 variations of precision tools, gauges, measuring instruments and saw blades for industrial, professional and consumer markets. Starrett products are sold throughout the United States and worldwide through distributors, dealers, retailers and online. Recently, the company broadened its product offering through acquisitions and innovative product line expansions.


In addition to its nearly 600-page annual catalog, Starrett traditionally has used a variety of printed materials – such as user manuals, data sheets, white papers and material data safety sheets – as the foundation for its traditional marketing programs. But the company was eager to transition that content to new and emerging online and mobile channels so customers would have more ways to access product info and be able to order “at the touch of a fingertip.”

Starrett asked us to develop digital editions of its catalogs optimized for both online and mobile. A key goal was to make it easier for customers to search for specific products and information, and to access and order sell sheets and other product information on their online and mobile devices. Another goal: giving customers one-touch access to new product videos.
